What Inspectors Actually Check
During a home inspection, expect a review of the main panel and any sub-panels, visible wiring conditions, outlet and switch function, grounding and bonding, and the condition of the service mast and weatherhead outside the home. Inspectors also test a sample of outlets for proper polarity and grounding, and check for signs of overheating such as discoloration or a burning odor near panels.
